What does the controller or what I noticed?
Processing and size:
The first impression of the workmanship is good. The controller is robust and fits comfortably in your (my) hand.
The weight is greater than the Sixaxis but less than in the XBox360 controller.
He is comfortable ergonomic shape and is in size somewhere between the Sixaxis / DualShock and the XBox360 controller.
The controller is slip resistant and tacky.
Connectivity & Compatibility:
The controller has at the end of his, with nearly 2 meters long but pleasant cable, a USB and a PS2 connector.
The PS2700, the PS / 2 and PS / 3 to operate the PC.
Here we are also equal to one drawback: The Rumble function can be used, unfortunately only at the PS2 and PC. This is the manufacturer's website does not mention (I've already written a Saitek mail this regard).
The Cyborg module:
This is a patented feature of Saitek in England.
The Cyborg module is a small oval-shaped housing, on the left analog stick and the directional pad sit. By pressing a button on the underside of the pad, the module can be out and press (during the game) turn in seconds and reinsert. The key is easy to reach with your left middle finger.
A green LED (right light), indicates the operational readiness of the Cyborg module.
The directional pad can be readily and accurately operate.
The analog sticks:
The sticks are well finished, have a generous range of motion, and each has a small recess for the thumb at the top on.
The sticks can be, just like the original Sony controller, also press and use them as keys.
Disadvantage: If you push the stick all the way forward, can the embroidery key difficulties. This happens only when the stick is pushed all the way forward.
The Button'S:
The most important first: Yes, there is a working PS button on the controller is hidden behind the term "Home" and located at the low, circular base above the Saitek logos.
There you will find three other buttons: Start, Back (Select) and a button that allows the controller between Playstation and PC can be switched compatible.
The thumb buttons (triangle, circle, ...) as well as L1 and R1 (I'll call "Bumper") are easy to reach and have a pleasant pressure point.
The "Trigger" (L2 and R2) are also within easy reach and are curved forward like the XBox360 controller (or the Sony controller, if one has to buy this trigger essays). The pressure resistance is good (slightly more than the Sixaxis I want my) and there is no risk of slipping.
The precision button:
This button is located at the bottom of the controller and is easily reached by the right middle finger. When this button is held down then reduces the sensitivity of the right analog stick in half. Say: It can be in shooters (especially at a distance) targets much easier.
Disadvantage: This only works on the horizontal and vertical axis. Diagonal is the normal movement higher sensitivity obtained, which does not interfere with play.
Is a nice feature that is likely to secure one or the other "Sniper" appeal.
Advantages and disadvantages:
+ Good workmanship
Versatile + (available for PC, PS2 and PS3)
+ Good facilities / Features
+ Long Cable
+ Left Analog Stick and D-pad interchangeable
+ Good price / performance ratio
- To date, no rumble function of PS3 possible
- Stick buttons difficult to press when sticks are moved up to the stop.
- LED Cyborg module something bright
Conclusion:
A very nice product with good innovations from Saitek (Cyborg module) and a few verschmerzbaren weaknesses.
For me, the Cyborg module and the shape ensures definitely for an increase in the game fun at my PS3.
In a 10-point rating scale, I would give the PS2700 Rumble Pad an 8 be: A point deduction due to the lack Rumble feature on the PS3 and another point for a few little things (see above).
Note:
The end of January is a wireless variant under the product name "PS3500" on the market: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...pf_rd_i=468294
