Systematic Chaos (Audio CD)

Customer Review

You have to go back far to find in the discography of the prog gods an album to which almost everyone could agree on. The last work that almost all satisfied with that, was "Scenes From A Memory". Since this album was released in 1999. Over all publications were discussed more or less controversial. Too cluttered, too hard or too inconsequential were in chronological order, the allegations with which faced the corresponding albums.
Certainly there will be more than "Systematic Chaos" critical voices, but over time will most likely confirm that, if not the best, but at least the konsensfähigste album since "Scenes From A Memory". This is mainly due to the enormous variety. On "Systematic Chaos" offer Dream Theater on everything they were famous in their over 20 years of band history. Here there are huge epics ("In the Presence of Enemies I + II) as well as beautiful ballads (" Forsaken "), hardness (" The Dark Eternal Night "), melancholy (" Repentance ") and experimentation (" Prophets of War " a return to great tunes goosebumps). Fans of the first hour (and in particular of "Images & Words") are welcome. With "The Ministry of Lost Souls" Dream Theater have created one of her best longtracks. pur!
"Octavarium" was by far not a bad album, even if it included the occasional failure. Compared with "Systematic Chaos", however it is quite under. Even if it did not always appear in the last few years: Dream Theater remain firmly in the Prog-saddle, give your current frontline Gaul spurs and ride forward to a sunny future.
