I had ordered and already tested the first available 27-inch monitor (Acer h274hlbmid) a year ago scarce. Not only that the Acer with its wide edge looks relatively ugly by design, the 3D Vision1 is not comparable to the new. Ghosting and brightness of VG278H are clearly better. After the Acer display got a damage even after not even one week of operation (display has shown in the middle of colored lines running) he went back to the dealer.
The ASUS is even with its size and the low resolution of 27Zoll not uncomfortable when web browsing or office work. On the contrary, I find now that this screen the eyes after prolonged operation less strained than my old Dell 2407WFP with higher resolution. At first I was afraid that the color reproduction is worse than my old Dell with S-IPS display due to the TN panels but I can not confirm. For me, the colors are impeccable.

3D Games Extreme Fun with 3D Vision2. I can fine-tune for a bit as well as notice no ghosting. Unfortunately, 3D Vision is very power-hungry so BF3 with a GTX570 only with low details at acceptable frame rate (40-50FPS) can be gambled. But I will anyway use the 3D mode for single player.
The display is super fast and much better than my Dell. In particular, the 120Hz mode is a gain for games!
Movies in 3D are a true splendor thanks Lightboost and FullHD with 60Hz. I've seen so far even with no TV a better 3D picture!
However, worth noting is a problem, which I have only recently discovered. When using HDMI, I have in the resolution of 1920x1080 at 24Hz a Spulenpfiepen. But that is only available at this frequency. So I keep the monitor first: D and hope it does not become worse. Therefore I have given an asterisk less ...
