Apart from the possibility of a small zoom range in UWW area, the image stabilizer for the purchase was decisive. The image stabilizer is especially helpful when shooting video herauszufilter small camera shake and thus calms the video image.
ALTERNATIVES ##### #####
The Sony SEL-1018 is equipped with an aperture f4 although not as bright as Sony SEL-16F28 for the SEL-1018 is more flexible, has better image quality and image stabilization. Unfortunately Sony SEL-1018 is very expensive.
##### Optical performance #####
Images are developed with DxO Optics Pro 7.5, for which there is also a module for optical corrections since May-2013. For a UWW lens the results are very satisfactory. The sweet spot is 14mm.
EDIT: Since November 2013, DxO Optics Pro uses 9.

##### ##### CRITICISM
As with all UWW lenses people are severely distorted rim. Here can be used to remedy the upper end of the lens (16-18mm), which the zoom lens can be as opposed to a fixed focal length to an advantage.
