I am quite some time looking for an affordable 23-inch monitor, which features possible on the latest IPS technology and excellent equipment and optics.
After my computer is equipped with the Asus motherboard Z-87A and I
best experiences with Asus have made, the decision was not difficult for me,
to get the IPS Monitor MX-239 H.
Asus Z87-PRO motherboard socket LGA 1150 (ATX, Intel Z87, 4x DDR3 memory, HDMI, DVI-D, RJ-45, 8x SATA III, 6x USB 3.0)
The build quality is second to none in this price range, as well as the design!
A metal ring as a stand foot and a brushed aluminum bar at the bottom of the screen are good eye-catchers. Currently certainly one of the best monitors on the market today.
In less than 30 seconds of the foot is attached to the monitor and the device is super stable on the table. Many write of a rickety machine, which I can understand in any way.
Incidentally, it should be noted that much cable material from Asus is included. DVI missing on HDMI, VGA cable, power cord also for England, 3.5 mm jack for stereo etc. Only an HDMI to HDMI cable. But you can also order.
AmazonBasics High-Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet (2.0 meters)
Immediately noticeable that the display itself is completely matte and does not reflect the way! Why can not TV manufacturers, this also ??? It is claimed matt displays are not brilliant. Thanks to the HDMI connected is immediately recognized properly, the monitor of W7 and automatically selects the Full-HD resolution. Already in the sRGB factory settings the picture is very brilliant.
Windows7 users, I recommend in the search bar enter dccw.exe, then the Windows startup screen calibration. At the end of the screen calibration necessarily the ClearType Tuner also perform yet! After finishing setting I can understand in any way the negative comments on the monitor. The image is simply magnificent, whether by office use or in photo / video.
Various test demos of photos and video trailers revealed no weaknesses for me.
The first weakness is apparent when one deals with the touch sensor buttons. The control requires some practice, because a precise navigation is almost impossible. Picture settings you make as a rule only once, but there is a half star deduction.
The menu itself is clear, focussed on the most important, with a precise color calibration. Exactly this opportunity, I recommend to use.
For photo / video sharing, I recommend the following settings:
Splendid -> Standard Mode
Brightness: 50
Contrast: 60
Color -> color temperature -> Users
Red: 76
Green: 66
Blue: 72
Image Setup -> Trace Free -> 20
Disable ECO setting necessarily, otherwise you have constant up and abhellen the display!
Now you have everything perfectly calibrated!
Next, I wanted to test the internal Asus speakers. Also, since I can not
understand why there have a lot of problems to get a sound out. In Windows7 Sound menu, the monitor is detected and you have to switch only. That's it. Habs tested. The Bang & Olufsen designed concept sounds quite okay as background music, but had since significantly more expected. As this is particularly highly-touted, there is of me half a star deduction.
The screen illumination is even, black is really deep black! Also 4K material (which is of course internally scaled down to 2K) is displayed without problems on the monitor. Full-HD material looks on this monitor simply gorgeous. Letters from Office applications are also presented knackscharf so that reading the many negative reviews can not understand To summarize. Only the non-optimal sensor keys and the average audio quality combine to create a star deduction!
Nevertheless, there are no better at the price monitor in this price range! Despite little weaknesses I can pronounce an absolute buy recommendation, since there is nothing comparable. Chic and very well made, the device is also. What more do you want?
++++ No reflections thanks to matt surface
++ Stunning picture quality (especially after calibration!)
++ Excellent color rendering
++ Beautiful, pure white with good viewing angle bar formality thanks to IPS
++ 2 x HDMI
++ Very chic design
+ Above average processing in this price range
- Sensor keys are not precise to use (must indeed be rarely used)
- The Bang & Olufsen audio quality is overrated -> does not sound so great!
