I was basically not a fan of "lens protection filters" and share the opinion of many others, that a lens hood is sufficient as a lens protector normally. However, I came to the doubts, decency as a trip to sandy and windy area. I have read me for hours in various forums and photo pages, and came to the conclusion: "You have to test it yourself." The opinions on protection filters are so polarized that you simply can not derive clear advice from the forums. I then for my "Always top-lens" (a 28mm F1.8) ordered this Hoya filters and was converted after a few days. I tried really a lot of lighting situations and there are very very few pictures on which I find so with difficulty Lensflares which could be reinforced by the filter. Without filters (same setup on a tripod) were the flares usually as strong. Every now and then were really filter-related case. I ordered for my testing for my entire lens filter Park this brand. On expensive lenses have cheap / bad "cover" no place :)
