The housing is made slightly smaller in contrast to the previous, but the mold was beige hold. The connection cable to the computer is no longer laterally but backwards and is no longer fixed, but you can use a normal USB3 cable.
While I mostly insets other USB3 hub to the notebook, I could now operate these on my minitower computer. This is under the desk. Thanks to the long connecting cable about 90cm, I can make the stroke on the desk, but only when I'm using the rear jack on the computer. For the front, it would be then too short.
Thanks to the good, better than the other hub, rubber on the bottom, the hub slips handy on the desktop no longer. Better it could be only through a higher weight.
The stroke looks stylish and the driver installation Win7 took place after plugging automatically and easily.
In addition to the USB3 driver there is also a USB2 driver. Thus, one can use as USB2 hub adapter as well. However you get then, depending on the device inserted, the note: "This device supports higher data speeds" and should be operated on USB3.0. One should take a USB3 port however prefer. Of course, USB2 devices can also be connected.
So I took an external hard drive and USB3 USB2 USB flash drives operating in parallel. Since it is a passive hub, one must remember the power devices. One can no 4 external, powered only by the USB port, hard drives operate in parallel. With 4 USB sticks there are no problems. Several external hard drives with independent power supply without any problems.
The adapter should be fit for Mac's. Since I have no, I could not try it.
Conclusion:
I am completely satisfied and I liked the new features compared to its predecessor, very good.
