This book of three specialists of the nervous system is a gem. The text provides a wealth of information that is carefully illustrated. One can spend hours just looking at the pictures. Each chapter contains a list of references in scientific journals that is current and that helps peeling details if necessary. It is not for nothing that this book is about that third edition. The ontogeny of the nervous system by chance coincides with the history of research on this field. It starts with experiments in the 20's and 30 with relatively simple techniques and continues with confocal microscopy images called 'time lapse'. I am very happy with my purchase.
