Packaging: So a gruesome package has not yet seen. It is hardly possible to unpack the lamp without the packaging completely destroying and damaging itself or the lamp selbiger to injured /. As the product makes before the first use no fun anymore. It should urgently be improved by the manufacturer.
For the nerve factor a star deduction.
Processing: The lamp itself looks quite wertig, but whether it is really waterproof remains to be seen over time. A vulnerability evident but fairly quickly: the on / off switch. This is only a very small Micro button (under the rather large rubber cover which initially indeed has an at least with bare fingers pretty good tactile feedback, but already with light gloves hardly likely to still be felt. At first, because after a short time, no pressure point more was available. Probably the micro switch is sometimes damaged by pressing too hard. As to turn on the red light or mode change betw. white / red, but this has to be pressed for several seconds, which is more difficult to dose. Although the lamp still works, OK is nevertheless not.
Function / operation:
There are also light and shadow. First the negatives:
- The light has to be always switched off completely (off low beam-off Highbeam Off) to switch between the two white lighting modes (high beam / low beam). The burden already noticeable in the dark eyes. Off low beam high beam-off: It makes more sense, the different modes sequentially cycle through by simply pressing would. The red light still could be achieved by each long press on or off.
- When the red light off, unfortunately, does not work as described in the instructions: you have the red light is activated and keeps the button pressed for Deactivating, suddenly, the high beam comes on at full brightness. The homogeneity of the light cone can be described as rather poor with clearly pronounced light rings.
- The fact that the last used mode (red / white light) "saved" remains confused also more than good.
- The last set brightness of the dimmer function will not be saved. You start every time with full brightness when you turn.
Yet there are also positive:
- Brightness and light distribution in both the television and in the Nahlichtmodus, both are well used
- The dimming function itself works very fine and easy to dose, making it possible to the life of the lamp well influence
- Good light duration
- Good and very practical charging function via USB port, even if the charge level during operation is not too reliable in principle by the three individual batteries
- Usability of standard AAA batteries for emergencies
With a little trick can be incidentally also use all standard NiMh batteries. so that one does not rely on the Black Diamond battery)
For about the service also has a star deduction.
All in all, a good approach for a Revolt ionäre headlamp with some weaknesses.
Should the manufacturer to revise the points mentioned (switches, operating concept, packaging), it would be a highly recommended headlamp in my view. In its present form this is true, unfortunately, only with restrictions.
Due to the mentioned small range of products, the lamp was kept.
