Blues Rock at its best!

Standing in the Shadows (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Unlike the pre-reviewers, it was the other way around with me: I have seen King King Live at the Downtown Blues Club in Hamburg. And it was with the best concert I've heard in a long time. After that I had to have the CD immediately and also did not disappoint. On the contrary: Blues Rock at its best. No really bad piece of it. Billowing Hammond organ sounds, grooving guitar solos. Pieces that may take much longer than 3:45 min. Sometimes thoughts came on to Mark Knopfler or Luther Allison. When Alan Nimmo evolved only a bit, he will also win their own, completely unique sound.
And if you watch the guy and his band playing, you know where this fat, rousing sound comes: The guys have mistaken enjoy what they do, Nimmo will not get in his solos the grin from his face. How nice that even those albums come in times of omnipresent Gummiblubbermusik on the market.
