With my Leica-M I have maintained the analog phase long, could never make friends with really big Digtal SLR. Therefore, I use since several digital cameras the price range 250-450.
I wanted to have a camera that can cover (depth of field) and higher demands in terms of quality and image design but without interchangeable lenses.
The Sony RX10 I found remarkable the many negative customer reviews unsettled me, but ultimately my part was then somehow too big.
Now I have the Canon.
I will not nachschreiben what professionals or pseudo experts have published, I bought my camera do not return to it again, not even to show the making and their development departments, which deficits they have to buy them for me.
So I do not formulate what would be the ideal camera but what I think is good or bad at the G1x Mark2.
Positives:
I am thrilled by the overall image quality. The criticized by some at open aperture soft imaging performance, there may be, even with Aperture 2.0, the performance of the camera is properly for me, and when compared to my other Digikameras tip.
The imaging performance overall I think is great. The focal length of 24-120 is exactly what I need, the built-in digital zoom is great - especially as put by the larger sensor sharpness / pixel only slight loss of quality.
To make settings on the touch screen is a major advance, distance-focus etc. otherwise. Settings go fast.
The macro options cover my desires to a large extent. Necessary enlargements at flowers etc. have a great quality, which is obviously also due to the large sensor.
The tripod thread is pretty centrally, even with a small tripod is the camera is stable. Tripod socket in the direct center axis I find necessary when it comes to professional tools.
The setting options are really very comprehensive, which is also a point of criticism - more on that later.
Manual flash activation I find ideal, I know even when I want flashes or not. The folding screen is very good.
Overall, the camera is compact and small enough to this for div for me. Bring your own occasions not more pocket-compatible, but still handbag Suitable (woman)
Negative I find:
Dial for shooting modes is not sunk or protected before you will know it -If you adjusted with straps or clothing etc. because streift- the shooting modes.
The display itself is likely a bit brighter (in sunlight). The power consumption is very high, take into account a second battery with ...
The pricing of the battery and the sun visor is at the limit of what is reasonable.
The price of the camera, I can not criticize, it forces you, after all, no one to buy the part. If you have bought one but it is delivered with accessories purchase pricing.
The menu is very extensive and requires as a non Canon knowledgeable a longer training period. Too bad that it's not like some software is a normal mode with stripped-down features and expert mode.
The permanent assignment connection button on the device for WiFi etc. is not freely programmable. WLAN WiFi does not interest me at the camera, so I could prove this button with more meaningful.
The conclusion is: a great camera, covers my photographic range from nearly perfect.
