Expectations were high, accordingly. I even both Special Editions risen (Coarse and collector Edition) and could not wait to kloppen the disc in the "Next" box gene. And now for those who do not want to read a lot so my first impressions:
Pro:
- The story mode was surprisingly "good", not great, but better than expected.
- Finishing moves and X-Ray Moves seem a little more brutal and make more fun watching
- There is a big number of new characters
- Cassie Cage - the daughter of Johnny Cage is really smart and has the most beautiful Fatality (and also the German voice of Penny from Big Bang Theory)
- The crypt was extended
Negative
- Some models look out really funny? Johnny, Sonya are really her?
- At times bad synchro, but oh well ... was to be expected
- The graphics are good, but I really expected more. Especially by the ingenious Teaser
- The entire setting has been removed from the typical MK. Shang Tsung and Shao Kahn are mentioned but are not part of the game
- I miss old areas
- I miss a lot of old fighters (Cyrax and Co.)
- Questionable Difficulty: medium is far too easy and heavy hard to master (for me - I'm a questionable VLT players ....)
- DLCs rip off ... really sad the finished content is retained as DLC.
- Tower of the challenge from MK9 missing (had lots of fun with it!)
- No team battles more only 1on1
- Fixed Stages - so you can not throw through walls and then comes to another area (aaaber I'm not sure if that was just for Injustice or even at MK9), that I had but, strangely, I automatically promised.
- The models were heavily distorted, if you struggled for a while with MK9. That was downgraded here strongly.
And and and ... I could now even more wishes and expectations tuck me simply missing. Mortal Kombat would have a spin-off works better for me. Mortal Kombat X is as I said not a bad game, but I had more fun with MK9.
