Have the cable car in use had to extend the VW MDI port.
After a few days, the plastic covering the Ligthingsteckers broke apart.
After that was just a hum about connecting heard.
With another cable (VW-MDI -> USB -> standard Apple cable) there is as yet (4 weeks) no problems.
