For Camera:
Size and usability are very good and although the housing mostly made of plastic, it makes a high quality impression. The AF speed is very good and absolutely does not need to hide behind a high quality DSLR. In the image quality can only imagine with much manual setting and RAW development due to poor lens what they can actually afford.
An absolute impudence is the delivery. In a DSLM this price range with its own charger case should be. Charging the battery in the camera and is annoying with a charging time of nearly 5.5 hours, an absolute impertinence. We are thus obliged to buy a separate charger. A set of spare battery and charger are available from SONY for MSRP of 90 euros! Audacious as it gets! I can only recommend to anyone from a reputable third-party manufacturer for RD. 30 euros to buy a similar set.
About the Lens:
It is only at first glance compact. Once you turn on the camera, moves out a tube and the size is doubled. Some complain about this, I think it's ok. Because one can convey the off camera better. But this was about the only positive point. Because the quality of the lens is just atrocious. No matter JPGs out of the cam, or by DxO developed RAW files, the picture quality is just underground. So do not get me wrong: Whoever has been photographed with a Compact Camera or a super zoom Monster small image sensor, will be quite pleased with the pictures. But who seriously engaged in photography and knows what can make a reasonable body with a neat lens, will be very disappointed.
The deficiencies which were noted to me in detail:
- In WW grotesque distortion that even DxO can not totally eliminate (photo zone has measured an 8% distortion, which seems to me realistic)
- Dull, poor color images with little contrast
- Focus is already modest in the middle and falls off rapidly towards the edge
- Tendency to CA's
- Evil Bokeh
Conclusion:
With a reasonable lens the Alpha 6000 is likely to be a very good DSLR Camera on-level. From the poor kit lens but you should stay away.
Update 10:12:14
Could the meantime the DSLM also test the 1670Z. While the lens is not perfect and over-priced in my opinion clearly, the picture quality is worlds better. Here the A6000 can finally show what actually is in her. You can find my detailed review here: Sony SEL-1670Z F4 / 16mm - 70mm E-mount lens black
