The problem: When set to Auto uses Canon higher Isos to get to faster shutter speeds. This is simply nonsense in practice, the camera has an incredibly effective Verwackelungschutz and thanks to the high Lichtempfindlickeit eh lower exposures than others. It only leads to the usual uncertainties and Vermatschungen that (again) times are now inevitable. This mode you could have just as well call it 'sport', for the short time you need only when objects in the image move fast. In addition, you can at the Auto Flash did not manually set that is only in the other modes. Since the detection of backlit works miserable, the usual antidotes (flash) is unavailable - no idea what was thinking this Canon.
My 'Auto' mode SCN in the setting 'Portrait'. Since the camera does everything alone and properly. When in doubt, I use the P mode and give over the rotating bezel to the desired ISO before.
I hope this helps other Gege inferiority clippers (like me) to more quickly clear with this camera. And that is more than convincing. Thanks to the 2.0 lens and a very successful squelch the S95 stomps my Fuji F100fd (same sensor size), which I used in direct comparison, into the ground. Just great!
