I have this camera deliberately selected, although there is a successor with an even greater zoom. My preference for shots of subjects from greater distances or portrayal of details from nearby eg faces and b / w photographs can be implemented with this camera. However, the light conditions must be very good. With mediocre to poor conditions the camera records ultimately slightly blurred (noise). The selection of Motivprgramme, compose the automatic choice of aperture and time is plentiful and found my consent. The stipulations under SCN - setting are very well done. The automatic setting in "Auto" is successful as for example with the Canon G11. The G11 has taken on bright images under "Auto" to me. Recordings with a narrower by a third panel were shown color stronger. Overall, I would recommend this camera Canon PowerShot SX40HS buy again.
