This lens is worth every euro. Wanted to buy myself a lens that connects to the focal length of my kit lens on the 450D. It was supposed to be an "Always top-Zoom", the brand 18-200 / 250mm with image stabilization. So fell the Sigma 18-200mm OS, the Tamron 18-270mm VR and of course the new Canon 18-200mm IS shortlisted. The Sigma is probably the weakest of the three, and the picture quality is not really convinced, but it has probably the best value for money. Tamron and Canon are there better, but also priced in a different league. By chance I found out about the 55-250mm IS. The image quality is truly superb and the price is right also. By the way even get a system part of Canon, with which one can be sure that it works smoothly and the EOSen. Granted, the lens is made entirely of plastic (together with bayonet), but does not feel cheap. Everything runs smooth as silk. Surely there are better processed with Canon optics, but image quality is this tip and then to kommts. The trouble is that Canon ascribes no GeLi aperture, as is the case with Sigma and Tamron. However, this should not lead to a devaluation, because the GeLi is relatively low for this lens. My tip: Dear times change lenses and make no compromises in image quality. But one has indeed chosen times for DSLR system.
