The USB 3.0 - connection to the Vaio 17 '' - VGN AR11 M (8 years old) I wanted for faster copying of video files and very large PDF files.
At least 4 times faster than USB 2.0 USB 3.0 is on the old Vaio. - see the screenshot
1. Supplement from 09:02:05 - 19:13 clock
Quite easily but does not work the ExpressCard. With 2 SSDs already, but with 2.5 '' HDDs, despite current connection via USB 2.0, not! Will continue with external power supply and USB - test connection. If it does not work, just merely the operation with additional 2 SSDs over USB 3.0 is that even helps.
2. Supplement the 10:02:05 - 12:50 clock
The power supply is now set up a separate power adapter with USB port.
Now operate both the SSD and HD 2.5 '' parallel to the ExpressCard. There are up to 70 MiB / s achieved both in the SSD and in the HD. Since the Vaio is very old seems sufficient to me. Copying a 4.5 GB movie file took nearly one minute.
