Someone once said to me: If you ever a good CD for a good wine need, take "Twentysomething" Jamie Cullum. And I'm glad that I have heard on this Someone. Because this CD is just great. First, you have a total running time of well over an hour really much good music and secondly, even my CD player is so hot on the music that he no longer wants to give the Cd. Totally relaxed and very "old-styled" the album starts with the song "What a difference ..." and "These Are The Days". The Cullum not only in memories revels of yesterday, but certainly has the courage to innovate, demonstrates the brilliant cover version of the classic "Singin 'in the Rain". Respect. I did not think that someone from this hackneyed classics can grind such diamonds again. "Twentysomething", the title track, "But for now," and "Old Devil Moon", then again quite in the style of the 20s, 30s and 40s. But then again a surprising reworking of a classic: one has ever been so "I could have danced all night" part? Almost in hip-hop style skin Cullum, the passages in the bass rhythm, which is later reinforced by piano and strings. "Blame it on My Youth", a song for dreaming and in the clouds look, the rapid "I get a kick out of you", the bravura "All At Sea" and the bluesy "Wind Cries Mary" ... what can we say more than: Very well done !? Then again, so have a song for love: "Lover, you should ...". "It's abaout time" and "Next Year Baby" again typical Cullum style. Who the Special Edition has now, can look forward to the great rendition of "Everlasting Love" and three other bonus tracks, as I and my CD player, "Twentysomething" easy listening now again from the beginning.
