Scope of supply:
In addition to the handset and the base station are still a telephone cord and power adapter as well as a printed manual included. Both lines have come in about the same length and not too short. That's good, because here often captures the anger on. The batteries are already installed and you can activate the handset by pulling out a insulating strip. Real practical.
Style:
The handset looks really chic. Front and rear precious shiny matt with a perforated top application. That I really like. By the back rounded shape it is also very good in the hand. The base station is also beautiful and looks clunky at all. The arrangement of speakers and buttons on the answering machine gives a pleasant picture. The most important information is immediately readable, for example, whether and how many calls were in absentia. On hand part there is also an LED that flashes yellow when missed calls.
Display:
The display looks great and is very easy to read, even from a greater distance. The information (signal strength, state of charge, AB, date, etc.) are fully illustrated and easy to understand. At first I thought that a color display does not have to be. With this device, I find it very pleasant and unobtrusive. Very nice, I think the time that is shown as an animated 70s retro digital clock (with folding figures). The View as analog is possible, but I do not like that. If the handset is in the base station, the display is always on. Here I think it's great that it illuminates only discreetly, yet is still easy to read. Some displays illuminate in the dark so the whole room. I do not like it.
Handling and functions:
The keys are not too small, bite and also lit whenever a key is pressed. The handling of the phone is very easy. Who is reasonably familiar with modern phones, easy to find by the well-structured menu. Actually, everything is almost self-explanatory. Even today's standard pictograms in the main menu are explained by a text at the top of the screen. Untrained help the well-crafted manual, which is a bit too small, unfortunately, in format and font. Not for people with poor eyesight. Luckily, you rarely need it. This is due to the really useful factory settings. Even a pleasant neutral greeting message is already stored on the AB. Otherwise, there are all conceivable functions and settings - alarm clocks up to the baby monitor - I did not all can list here. I do not think anyone will miss a function or setting.
Energy:
Here the phone scores with extensive energy-saving features. In addition to normal operation, there is the Eco Mode and ECO + mode. In the latter case, the energy demand is drastically reduced. Of course, in its use, the handle should not be too far away from the base station then, since energy conservation inevitably comes at the expense of the otherwise very good coverage.
I also like that the handset is powered by standard AAA batteries. Which give the handset a long standby and talk time and can be replaced with inexpensive standard batteries when times bring no more power. Experience has shown that goes relatively quickly if you, like me, has always put the handset in the base station and the phone not as much. This is bad for the batteries.
Sound and voice quality:
An important point in a phone is, of course, the voice quality. Here there is nothing wrong. Both the handset and the AB in the base station offer clear and distinct understanding, even in handsfree mode. The handset even offers three different sound settings (soft, warm, clear) which can be adjusted to taste.
I am also grateful for the fact that there are two 'real' ringtones. If you like it, of course, can also set one of the eight tunes. I particularly like also the jingle, which sounds in the base station at the onset of the handset. Who does not find the beautiful, it can also be disabled.
Summary:
In summary, I can say that Philips again a great product is managed here.
The design, meaningful, rich features and good sound make the device to clear buy recommendation with five stars.
