This recorder was meant for my mother (previously only used VHS) and should therefore be easy to use. Two days after the order it was there. When unpacking the first disappointment: the look is cheap in my eyes. The display is limited only to the most necessary and comparable to an old car radio from the 1980s or cheap DVD players from the hardware store for 25 EUR. The connection succeeded quickly and thus the unit could be tested. The recorder is very quickly ramped up (The HDD recording is quick: ShowView exists. Unfortunately, the later viewing is not practically solved: there is no chapter markers (unless it is transferred to DVD)! Thus one has the fast forward (VCR sends his regards) or help on the time selection. Next shortcoming (I'm probably spoiled): the just interrupted recording always starts when resuming at the beginning! My SONY recorder remembers the "breakpoint" and starts playback at that point. For me not to accept. To the volume of the DVD According plant I can not agree with the most. Yes, the device plays a beep at one second interval, but I did not bother.
SAMSUNG is a trademark company and I am using a Samsung TV more than satisfied, but this device is (despite the price) is not recommended. Rather spend 50 EUR more and get in return a SONY or PANASCONIC.
