This graphics card was purchased to give a facelift to a dell pc C521 (3GB of DDR2 + AMD 3800+ 64bit) Ubuntu 2.04 LTS and providing them with an HDMI output.
I only use it for office needs and video playback in VLC.
It is low profile and provided with the proper brackets (2, one for DVI + HDMI and one VGA for disconnectable).
The card does not require external power and voltage supplied by the PCI Express seems sufficient
The passive radiator is flat and goes perfectly in the tower.
The HDMI output (only tested) provides a clean image and perfectly acknowledges resolution 1920 * 1080 screen.
The sound also works.
You just make sure to look Catalyst proprietary drivers under Ubuntu by enabling and restarting.
Perhaps after restart that the image displayed is smaller than the screen. There is a setting (Catalyst> Display> DTV (in my case)> Setting> scaling option) on the Catalyst display driver to change that reduces the display. Mine was set to 15%, placing it to 0% (off) the image to its original size.
A simple and effective card.
