Class adapter at an affordable price

I for almost a year pursuing this adapter now on my notebook with different devices (hard drives, CD burners, DVD burner) and am completely satisfied. The adapter and the connected devices are detected instantly and are for automatic driver installation (Windows XP & Vista) in stock. The devices behave like in a conventional IDE and S-ATA port. Even a firmware update of my DVD drive was not a problem.
The data transfer rate of an IDE hard drive is relatively fast (my relatively new MyBook Pro with Firewire 400 not running noticeably faster).

In summary, the adapter is highly recommended, not only if you want to continue to use its old devices on the notebook. An ideal alternative to outrageously expensive drive enclosures.
