Delivery: Immediately after I had ordered, the trigger was shipped the next day. Again great performance by Amazon.
Packaging: Delivered the Ayex in a cardboard box. Completely Frustfrei because super to open.
Scope of supply: trigger, model-specific connector, two batteries, unfortunately there is no manual in German. So one should a little English or Chinese can. But there are plenty of guides on the network, which describe the functions very well.
First impression: The timer feels very valuable and has a decent weight. Attention in the display must be deducted the protective film. I initially thought that I would get a second-hand equipment, as the display was scratched. But this is only the film and behind a Schramm-free display is revealed.
Device in practice: The part has really everything you could wish for. Is a pity that the timer has no power button. Once a key is pressed it jumps to. That could be a problem if it is a camera bag and get some pressure, so that it remains permanently switched on. The large knob at the bottom center allows triggering including focus when you half-press the shutter button. The individual functions are switched through with the cursor pad.
Starting from left to right:
Delay: Time of the leader, to the first release
Long: shutter speed of the camera (note, the camera must be in the bulb mode are
Intvl: interval time between shots
N: number of planned trips (max: 399) but I do not really care, because I let the shutter simply run forever, I should want to do more than 399 recordings. Then you can stop the trips with the Start / Stop button easy.
With the "Set" button the display starts to blink and you can specify the settings.
The annoying sounds can be switched off and the lights can be switched off to save batteries.
Everything works fine and accurate to the second. I have had the Ayex until now 4 times in use with 650, 380, 590 and 260 daily allowances. The supplied batteries are not yet empty. Have, however, just needed light for the settings and it is then switched off. The sounds I have suppressed from the beginning.
Overall, the trigger fully meets my expectations. Should I even change the camera, so no completely new timer needs to buy, but only the camera-specific connection, which has a 2.5mm jack. The cable currently costs 7.50!
For me an absolute buy recommendation. Only an on / off button would do the Ayex well.
