I have the 7490 acquired to replace an ASUS router, because this is completely adopted after only 2 years of use and could not be set in motion. The 7490 should (at least) to replace the router function in the home network, but I have also flirted with it, if I allow any of A1-supplied replace the ADSL modem. Unfortunately, it is out I have not succeeded in advance whether the Fritz box 7490 is on the whitelist at A1. (Note:. Basically supportet A1 except the provided modem officially no other products support of A1 is explicitly excluded.) Within 2 days after order with Amazon, the device was already delivered and I went to the configuration. The configuration wizard for the ADSL connection even offered to have a selectable configuration A1, it took maybe 5 minutes to everything I had entered and behold, the A1 connection also worked already. I was blown away, I have set myself a much longer battle for the ADSL connection. Di connection speed when my connection is generally not very exhilarating, max. 13 Mbit download are theoretically possible (stating A1) The connection speed with the 7490 is displayed 12.3 Mbit / s, but this is no different than previous modem that pointed to the same values. However, the Fritz box seems to manage the bandwidth available to the connected devices completely different. The perceived speed advantage is huge (was also in a 5GHz WLAN as in 7490 now). Compared to previously a real revolution. Apart from the calls I use at the 7490 all options, including NAS. On the enumeration of all technical possibilities I want deliberately forego these can be found and the browser interface of the 7490 is all relatively well intuitively. The box runs with me non something more than a week without any problems. So it is also expected .. :-) I am not only convinced of the product, but really very pleasantly surprised. With a performance boost as I experience it, I did not expect at the outset. Truly outstanding! Likewise, I have the whole house (house with EC and 1st floor) a 2.4 and 5 g wireless network with full performance. This was not the case previously.
The A / CH version of the 7490 runs the way to SW version 6.20. The update to came right after the connection was to the Internet.
Class product, super performance, intuitive operation - better not go in my opinion.
The purchase of more expensive box I have certainly not regret it! Had I more likely to order ;-)
