I would definitely read the long manual, 229 pages, not the short one, to get the most out of your phone. The manual is bit disorganized at times, Especially When it comes to features it Which Explains When. But overall worth the read. Extensive Troubleshooting section near the end.
Nice touch is indeed the handsets come with standard AAA rechargeables, so down the line just replace with your preference, no need to hunt for manufacturer specific replacements.
Although it says MADE IN GERMANY, some components are sourced from India and China silent: such as the power converters. Overall build quality feels ok but not as good as some Panasonic wireless sets. The finish is a magnet for fingerprints.
I would recommend quiet despite the caveats.
