The service is super! Leaves I can where I wipe with your finger on the touch screen or the respective buttons (forward-backward) operator. The reading comfort is top! The pixel-free, Expandable writing on light gray (not white!) And not reflective background, can read very well. Prerequisite: There must be sufficient ambient light to be present, because it is not illuminated screen as laptops, I-pad & Co. Chic and functional is the (optional) leather binding, in which the reader is clicked. In my version there is even a fold LED lamp.
The other functions do their job perfectly: dictionary, notes, dog-eared, asides, highlighting, underlining are meaningful tools which allow a book to edit. The simulation of the pin is a bit slow, the hand-scrawled seems a little late on the display; Paper and ink you can safely keep still. Flotter it comes with the virtual keyboard that appears in the note on the display mode. This too is only an auxiliary function; a book is also no notepad, although you can write something pure.
But: An e-reader is not a book! As a friend and book Lesefan course I miss the typical characteristics of a conventional book No rustling of paper, no smell, no leaves!; even the virtual book purchase download ie does not come close to the experience book purchase in the bookstore or a library visit.
Why I bought the PRS 650? Unlike other devices, it is 'neutral'; it eats the most popular formats and I do not have to bind to a specific online bookstore but can download (or buy) what and where I want.
I store the books on the device, which I will probably read only 1-2 times (novels, thrillers) and can carry them around all very space saving me. This is very handy when you have to choose between many books when it comes to the holidays, or in the lunch break. From now on I'll just take all with! Should I even hit a thing I do not like, then the ham takes up only space away, and no precious shelf space. I need it then just delete.
The first battery charge lasts for three weeks now, the indicator is still on half full; the device really seems minimal to consume electricity when the pages are scrolled. Impractical, however, that the device is sold without charger; the battery charges, but as soon as the PRS 650 is connected via USB cable to a computer.
It is still possible to use SD memory card and listen to music through headphones on the built-in player. Nice to have but not need to have my conclusion. I prefer to read in silence, without music to the ears; the 2 supplied sample songs I've tested, it works beautifully.
Conclusion: A typical book feeling will never come up with the existing equipment and the PRS 650 is I can not replace books. Similar to an MP3 player, I have a portable library with me -according manufacturer holds the memory over a thousand books with great ease and with exclusively book-oriented functions. Even if I look at 'only' electronic text on a screen, the simulation is perfect and I remain largely readers and not users.
