The Itzehoer company are two-year guarantee. The warranty card is printed in a credit card-great service booklets. This has 16 pages and is written in German and English. The manual is easy to read and telling the time and date setting is handled in exactly seven sets and a graphical illustration. The crown can be pulled out to two positions. Position 2: time setting by rotating the crown. Position 1: Date setting by turning the crown. Irritating way in the manual for the different operations twice "Time Setting" (instead of once "Time Setting" and even "date setting").
With 200 grams the JT705-1 is not exactly a lightweight. Gratifying is that the weight does not diminish the wearing comfort. The thick rubber strap produces virtually zero friction. You can pull the rubber band with a lot of effort, it seems virtually indestructible. The bracelet has ten pre-drilled holes. These also allow carriers with very broad wrists secure closing. The end of the strap extends about two centimeters out of the rubber sleeve and is now something that does not look quite as elegant. As the clock but apparently designed to appeal to the athletic type, the theme elegance is probably secondary. PS: According to the supplier the clock is water resistant to 10 ATM. According to the supplier making handwashing, water sports (eg rowing / sailing), showers and swimming possible. I can confirm that. Dives are loud party with this clock but impossible.
The bezel is rotated counterclockwise and produces a fine clicking sound. After turning right go well, however, only five millimeters. An accidental turning to the right is thus prevented functional reasons. The outer black Lünettenrand looks dirty or unclean printed at first sight. But this is not so. However, I had to look very closely to see that about a very thin and transparent film was stuck. With some Knibbeln can peel it off and the black and silver circular dial shines with crisp and shiny look. The fluting of the bezel also allows for easy turning.
The mineral glass allows a very non-reflecting view on hands and dial. But when something disturbing I find the magnifying glass-like glass bead on the date field. Although they increased by a factor of 2: 1 and facilitates reading, but throws a bright and drop-like reflection on the black matt interior. This looks a bit like this, as if to form under the glass condensate. But is only an optical illusion.
In my attempt to catch a curious look into the inner quartz movement, my fine tool has left its claw marks. It is not, I managed to open the back cover. There is also no notch for easier lifting available. Because I wanted to see no clockmaker, I have the hotline of "James Tyler" call (00800 880 880 08 or 0180 586 5014). I wanted to know what I have to do in the event of changing batteries - or if the product is not designed to change the battery and in the category "after two years and the warranty from so in the garbage" falls.
The telephone conversation took a minute. The friendly man at the hotline listed my concerns and promised a prompt recall. Ten minutes later came the recall. I learned in passing - as mentioned above - that this model comes from China. And the possible event of a failure or an impossible change the battery, the warranty issue and a normal buyer repaired the clock without hesitation / exchanged receives (via Itzehoe).
My Conclusion:
The open and honest customers handling on the Hotline has me pleasantly surprised, especially the reference to China. And the two-year warranty. This is the first star.
The external processing is solid; especially the bracelet is very durable and comfortable. This is the second star.
The functionality, although rudimentary, but everything is easy to adjust and operate without hooks and wobbling. There is the third star.
The accuracy is okay (for about 5 seconds Uhrgangverzug per week. This is not dramatic in quartz drives. Simply readjust occasionally synchronize). Star number three and a half.
Contained battery already included or incorporated: Still a half star. The score: Four stars.
Unfortunately, you can not change the battery as a carrier itself (see above problems). That's not user-friendly. A full star deduction. The score: Three stars.
Price: Moderate, in future probably something falling. Half star; The scoreboard is now three and a half star.
, Not easy to open Little black slip lid with silver printing, padded with foam but it's better than nothing: Packaging half star, four star score.
Operating Instructions: Very simple. But unfortunately, with what is mentioned above error. Half star deduction. The scoreboard is now three and a half star.
Optic / Design / Style: Massive, masculine, robust, rather for the practical type assessed. No eye but not potthässlich. A matter of taste. No star award.
Extras / Other: Lupe over date is more disruptive than helpful. The alleged luminous dots on the dial do not have fluorescent effect. Half star deduction,
Total comprehensive income: Three stars = Not bad.
