I bought this to replace a printer Epson 6 color model that was dedicated to photo printing and dropped me after 6 years after loyal service. I was more than satisfied with the color rendition of the printer (my brother working in a photo lab already not see the quality difference of time between my drawings and those produced by the lab!). This printer is the most sophisticated version of the range 4 inks from Epson. With 2 inks less compared to my old printer and no longer needing to make prints photo quality "professional", I wanted to lower the cost of inks for use hoping to retain control and qualitative expertise Epson about color printing. - Personally, I'm surprised at the quality of color printing inks despite two less compared to my old printer. The colors remain as neutral as possible and "grain" surprisingly discreet! - I have always used paper Epson and Epson inks, the best "chemistry" to get the best color print quality. With other papers, you will get no results faithful to the original image (I tested). As for non-Epson inks, I already screwed up a printer as well ... (hopelessly clogged nozzles). - I also like the ergonomics at Epson print settings and scan as well suited to a non-warned that an informed (desire to advanced settings). - The build quality is a little cheap (lightweight plastic) but the use we quickly realize that ultimately there may not need more: everything works well mechanically. - For the first installation of the drivers of 4 computers, Epson should improve as the menus of the printer screen, the software provided, the online help is not of exemplary clarity! - Past the Cape of installing the drivers, the use of the remote printer (either from a PC or smartphone / tablet) or from its control panel to also very sensitive keys, is easy and provided in different ways.
I recommend this printer if you are a little demanding on the quality of photo prints and you are already an aficionado of the brand, but do not want to break the bank in ink (remember that it only has 4 colors) because long term, even when the ink budget that makes a hole in the wallet ... For non-aficionados of the brand, discover Epson, you will not be disappointed if you share the same criteria as mine in choosing your printer.
