The lacing on the front fans the appearance, for ease of entry, there is a side zipper, so that the lacing actually "almost" only the optics used.
As always I have taken greater here 1/2 size, so that when it gets colder, fit in the thicker socks.
The fit is perfect for my foot, because the shaft fits snugly with me and gives sufficient grip even in thin socks, ie some air down in the shoe - can be regulated over the laces a little (close / on). The Padded inner sole makes the shoe super comfortable and the kick enjoyable.
The color I call "midnight blue" would - almost black - designate - fit me perfectly to my other blue things.
It is not a smooth leather - as in item description only leather is, precisely here - it's suede, perhaps for the wet season is not ideal, but I have my impregnated - how they survive the fall / winter, we will see.
