After washing, it retains the original shape and the material is soft. We have washed the pants already 3x with 60 degrees (according to the manufacturer's instructions) and so far it has no approach of gray shimmer and the material has suffered in any way. My husband is 1,75 m tall and athletic, even with minimal paunch suits underpants like a glove.
