We must equip this walk at least a 2D ball.
Use case with a Camcorder: Panoramas are quite difficult to achieve a good keeping horizontality (that is not still a tripod). We naturally tend to cause the foot in a circular motion (and thus lean) while it takes to turn around the foot, leaving the vertical ... not natural! Two alternatives exist: Support the base of the foot on the belt (foot size allows it without problem). This position provides a good stability without breathing movement. The other solution is to block the foot with one hand against a support (for example a railing) and rotate the foot on its axis. In this case, a 3D ball joint can be interesting because it allows a better grip of the foot (which no longer turns on itself) and a more fluid panning.
In conclusion, a product to recommend.
