For several months now I have the Panasonic Lumix G5 with the kit lens Lumix G Vario 14-42mm and was from the beginning, as a relatively sophisticated opportunity photographer pretty excited (s. Reviews to).
So Christmas was a good opportunity to look for a suitable zoom lens. Since I have neither the means nor the claim of a professional photographer, the price also played a role. Important to me was the built-in image stabilization for a zoom lens, this offer so far only Panasonic models. A good overview, the site (hennigarts.com/micro-four-thirds-objektive)
After many comparisons 3 Panasonic lenses came into the closer choice:
1. This LUMIX G VARIO 45-150mm 1: 4.0-5.6 (weight ~ 200g)
2. The Panasonic LUMIX G VARIO 45-200mm 1: 4.0-5.6 (380g)
3. As well Lumix GX Vario PZ 45-175 mm / 4.0-5.6 ASPH F .; Power OIS (210g)
From the brightness and picture quality here, are the lenses close together (so it can be at least in the relevant test reports, read). If the customer photos above I have set some of the first attempts and a photo of the lens to the camera.
Why choose the smallest lens is quite clear that it is really the most compact and the easiest. Characteristics which make is pleasantly noticeable in holiday and other inserts.
The GX Vario I could try on the camera and it also has brought good results at the sample photos, it is just more expensive and the great power zoom I needed only for video recording. An ability of G5 that I use very rarely.
Therefore, the choice fell on this objective, which fully meets my requirements currently. An affordable fixed focal length with the corresponding increase in aperture values still need to get, in this segment, there are several manufacturers.
