Since the De Longhi is still displaced and the devices cost the same as I would like to compare them with each other. Our old De Longhi has about 6 years clamoring proved loyal service and we had to vacate her seat for some maintenance and ultimately, unfortunately getting worse werdendem coffee flavor. We have not yet even bought the same device as the grinder us then but was too loud. Since we predominantly coffee (yes the ordinary no-frills) and drink espresso, we have deliberately omitted when considering buying a machine with milk system and opted for the HD8761. Delivery on Amazon as always exemplary. In the initial installation you should really take the time and follow the instructions. After that, the operation is simple and intuitive. Since 2.5 months We use the Saeco now with about 2-6 covers daily, BRITA filtered water and have been tested 3 different coffees. Here is my personal comparison of the new Saeco to the old De Longhi: PRO: The grinder is much quieter. The device is ready for use much faster. The machine is more compact. The water tank can be filled well (even each other can and probably) from the top without having to remove it with the BRITA jug. (For direct filling at the tap of the tank of the De Longhi is to pull forward might be more suitable.) The easily programmable memory buttons for coffee and espresso are good if you (almost) always uses the same cup size. (In varying cup sizes or reference amounts I advise to another machine.) Maximum cup height 15 cm. No cup warming plate, which unnecessarily consumes energy. (Subjectively, have not compared the power consumption.) The duration of the operational readiness can be programmed. Contraindications: The bean container has only a slight incline to the mill and in the middle of yet bay for direct filling of ground coffee. This make it the beans at the forefront of not only backwards to grinder. (Since there are not many and you control the tank regularly, that's just a minor nuisance.) The here repeatedly criticized water in the drip tray is there actually and can not be avoided. The drip tray is about the same time the pulp container full, so that the cleaning / emptying corresponds to one step. (In the De Longhi all the water of rinsing out the coffee outlet flows, so you can include keeping the drip tray dry with a cup.) Whether the rinsing total of more water than at the De Longhi I can not judge, but it seems that way. Why the Power button flashes in standby as the immobilizer of a car? Neutral: Cleaning is easy on both devices. (If you empty the pulp container of Saeco when the unit, the unit knows when it is full.) The here partly criticized key resistance I do not feel as a problem. Is just not touch but a real button. The coffee flavor of the two devices I would rate well about the same. Both devices have removable brewing groups. The scratched shelves arise both devices by unglazed cup soils and frequent use, which does not bother me. The milk foam systems of both devices I've used exactly once for monitoring operability. The cleaning effort I find considerably. The quality can judge others better. (We offer our milk foam as needed with a mechanical Bialetti-frother ago.) Conclusion: The Saeco is at the same coffee taste quieter, faster and more compact. Cleaning and maintenance is all KVA not insignificant even for reasons of hygiene. If the Saeco about as long as keeps our old De Longhi, she gets the fifth star and I would buy immediately from today's perspective.
