Well, maybe you can, but can be very bad.
I travel on business to rely on Office. And Apple has unfortunately not really an alternative.
In the first respect, I am writing my review of Excel and Outlook, because I so this package in the first ways - bought fortunately here and not in the Apple store business-Dings. There namely costs only 250, - Euro.
Now for Outlook - the main reason of this purchase.
What a waste (I use times this Sch ...- word and not what I actually occurred first).
First question this evening from me towards the Office for Mac Coach:
So, I have a 11 GB PST file with all e-mails and data of last about 6 years, I can import? Answer: no idea, I can not say, may be that the computer crashes.
To which I so far I know, the only Windows machines, but okay.
Result of my self-experiment: Import only works unfortunately is the directory tree not taken but simply transferred to a folder "Outlook PST" and then I was able to manually "rebook". But what is still worse: taken any contacts, not even one. "objects sent"? - Disappeared. great. Bug or feature in this program?
Deleted because not useful.
Excel:
Tenor on presentation evening: We can also macros!
These are of fundamental importance for me. And? You of course will not work. We have as an insurance broker an Excel spreadsheet where I can make selections by companies from a table. For a splash screen appears, I can then make a choice of up to six companies and the table is then sorted again.
Unfortunately not in this program. The buttons do not function.
Then plenty annoyed support call. Mind the Office for Mac 2011 support on the dedicated Internet support hotline. First Set of Support: So with Office for Mac I've nothing to do.
Errr, then that makes sense so that you are sitting on this hotline. Any crap she told me.
I: next staff phoned. He said quite clearly: what can I tell you? Our program can not VBLA, so the macro can not run.
Apple does not want that and we can not help out.
That is, you are in the worst case, 250 euros from a program that does not really work. But much like Microsoft always does: throw software on the market that is not mature.
Conclusion: Office for Mac to the PowerPoint version (which is at least visually smart, but did not really me so set apart) uninstalled and installed Parallels Office 2007 Home and Business, or whatever that is. Because at least I know what I have.
do not buy.
I have not returned to the program, since the trader may nix it what MS published for a scrap and I did not felt to be right.
