My expectations were on the low side, as I at the time the price had me be swayed. After a quick and simple construction (connection and power cord plus disk) I went on the first test run and was surprised by the device. I had expected a slow user interface, which would, especially in data heavy photographs mean a slow image building and changing. But the reality is exactly the opposite. The screen layout of photos, even in larger megabyte range runs absolutely smoothly and quickly. Similar problems also run their own video footage (some GB files). The preview in the video area (within the Navigation With active video file) launches "ad hoc". A broad media compatibility of course I could not test, but my CnMemory stick and my Samsung USB disk detected perfectly. In addition, an external power source is not necessary, at least in my hard drive model. The USB port provides enough power to operate the hard drive.
The user interface is kept simple and intuitive to use. The navigation is limited to the necessary points.
My rating of 5 stars is less based on the technical capabilities of the device (as can numerous alternatives much more - at a much higher price), but more on fulfillment of the first-mentioned objective, which has been fully achieved. Especially in the present, other technical equipment in the audience circle (CRT), the device is perfectly adequate and met there on greatest satisfaction. In the current use of the device is rather limited by the TV being used. I guess a use runs smoothly and satisfactorily for older plasma and LCD televisions. On newer devices, I would not recommend a use already because of the lack of HDMI interface. Furthermore, it is becoming increasingly common in the newer generations of televisions that such functions are already integrated.
