Located in the heart of the city of London, this novel by Virginia Woolf discusses many of the terms of mental and physical alienation, ties between individuals and the integration of hazards (in oppositon to marginality) within ' a very rigid society. Communication is the first challenge in the story and the characters seek it, for some, even at the price of death: "Death Was an Attempt to communiquer" is the quote that best illustrates this fact. A myriad of more endearing than each other inhabit this narrative, which nevertheless carried on a single journée.L'histoire, although a bit boring at the beginning of the large number of details listed by the author, a poignant sequence, and holds the reader spellbound. Good novel, which reads in one sitting.
