When I change how to hold my camera (passage by holding the grip or the body of the device), the green LED lights up my D7100 indicating that the electrical contacts are made and unmade. I lost some pictures (recording the picture when the electrical contact stops); yet I tightened the grip all the way!
Be careful not to over handle the device registration phase to avoid losing the current picture ...
