But it was not necessary, because the white 6110N still absolutely convincing.
The 6110N under scheided not only optically from the big brother N95, but above all also by its substantially improved processing. In technical terms, however, the N95 scores easily with the built-in wireless, which easily makes up for it but 6110N.
As the name implies 6110 Navigator, mobile phone for mobile navigation is designed. In fact, the navigation is by a dedicated navigation system in nothing. To use a comes, for Series 60 devices fitted, Route66 (Nokia Navigator) with maps of Germany (or country where the delivery part of Nokia) was the 1st quarter of 2007.
The Nokia Navigator software is easy to operate via the mobile phone keypad and offers all the features that can be found in other navigation system. I myself have been using the Naviation on foot, by motorbike and in a car and am each come effortlessly to your destination.
For additional maps must, like any manufacturer, a License to buy. These can be downloaded, or those who prefer having tangible, also be purchased with a data carrier. Here, too, a great advantage, the 6110N is a smartphone, not necessarily linked to Route66 / Nokia Navigator.
The device has an integrated SiRFstarIII GPS receiver and is therefore not dependent on an Internet connection to navigation, and the map is located on the memory card (ie no running costs). Nevertheless, the device can also navigate using an external Bluetooth receiver or with A-GPS (Assisted GPS, so the inclusion of the cellular network / Internet).
Software is available naturally in heaps for the 6110N as Smartphone. It can be found for almost every need a suitable solution. Another point that makes the 6110N a great mobile phone is precisely the absolute flexibility. Is not enough, the supplied solution for their own needs shall, there is another already available. Thus Discontent is the 6110N satisfied as ever a good solution.
Tests in detail and reviews can be found in the network yes enough, so now some of my experiences.
- The voice and Emfpangsqualität is the E-Plus network is always of good quality, whether normal or egel 3G.
- My 2GB SanDisk microSD card runs fast and flawlessly, existing on the old map could easily be copied.
- Also Sandisk SDHC (High Capacity) 4GB have been successfully tested.
- The slide is much more solid than the N95 and also by months, no signs of wear.
- The camera delivers, as usual by phone, mediocre results, especially in the dark, the noise amplified.
- But the camera is very well protected by a slider, the camera also equal enabled.
- All keys are, including the top row, easy to reach..
- The device does not charge via the USB port.
- For the 6110N is however recognized by XP / Vista systems as a removable disk (assuming this is previously set in the mobile phone).
- The right-fragile-looking covers for the microSD card and the USB port proved so far to be very robust.
- The software for the PC provides all common functions, from the Synchronize appointments, calendars and address books with Outlook through to the backup and the video / audio conversion.
- To be able to perform with Mozilla Thunderbird a balance, however, the third-party software (extra charge) is necessary.
- The battery lasts me at continuous Naviagtion about 3 1/2 to 4 hours.
- With frequent use, ie about 1 hour. Navigation, 20-30min calls, SMS, Photos, Office, Bluetooth and media player, I have to invite every 2 days, which is well within.
- The display is visible even in direct sunlight absolutely flawlessly and contrasty.
- The built-in speakers are very loud, but they lack the typical mobile Draught.
- Like any flexible and free erweiterebare operating system S60 is immune, unfortunately, not in front of hangers or crashes, but generally works very stable and fast (in 9 months 4x hung).
- Lots of additional software, installs and uninstalls not bring the sytem out of step and even demanding games like Doom RPG run stable and fast.
Supplement 03.11.2010
After more than 3 1/2 years of the time when I was dekommen the 6110N by a Samsung Galaxy S (with which I am also very pleased for 6 weeks) had replaced.
Reason is technological progress, as the 6110N performed his service to the end properly and this will probably continue to do so with its new owner. Only the cover I have replaced for the sale, because the time has already left its traces.
