It is not at all a simple caftan but boubou (a simple rectangle of fabric folded in half, with a seam on each side). The dress is much less flared and floating than it looks in the picture, since many tissue is lost on both sides. But the size is correct and very portable dress. The fabric is very light and looks quite frail. It will not last long! A book for very hot evenings time one summer. It will not withstand more than that.
