Following a service procedure on my usual sink, i looked for a cheap backup sink. The official Intel heatsink is a correct solution. Mounting on a LGA2011 socket is a breeze. 4 screws and that is done, there are no rear plate to change. In terms of performance, Intel provided us the bare minimum. This heatsink is struggling to keep my i7 3930K (original frequency and Vcore) below 75 ° C with an average workload. The noise level at full speed it is anything but silent.
In short, this is a low-end heatsink and one should not expect anything else. For the price (23 on my purchase) temporary solution has perfectly done Laffaire. However for those who want a sink for every day, it is better to put a few euros more and have a better model.
