One positive and one negative point immediately caught my attention at first brushing:
- Part of the handle is rubber and therefore absolutely no slipping, which is very significant (the handle of my toothbrush is another smooth).
- The brush is short and mass, unlike that of Philips. It is much less pleasant to use because it takes up more space in the mouth. When I try to reach back teeth, it often happen to be disturbed by the stop as there down the handle.
Here, no system of rapid vibrations that mimics the natural movement of the manual toothbrush, but a circular head that oscillates rapidly to the right and left without making a full turn. This movement seems more aggressive than up-and-down, but a pressure sensor is there to prevent injury alone.
Other remarks in bulk:
The brush Oral-B is noisy: I feel like a tractor in the mouth so the engine purrs!
She has only one program: one-and-brush-and that is all. Philips offers one of five (normal brushing, soft, whitening, etc.), but I can not really blame Oral-B for this, given the price.
The charging cradle is small and brush hold water without risking falling. The latter is also completely sealed, charging being effected by induction within a plastic cavity. For recharging, that of Philips must be asked in a glass, itself placed on the charging stand (also induction), which takes up more space.
Efficiency: my first attempts are less conclusive with my other brush, but I must get used. In places where I have not missed my shot, my teeth seem as smooth with one with the other.
Price: the brushes are 2 euros less per unit compared to Philips. Knowing that the brush costs 110 euros less, money saving is very clear!
But despite this, I prefer the Philips anyway, for its softness, its sound less important, more natural brushing system and finer brush, which thus reaches more places. But I put them four stars both because of the price difference.
EDIT
After several uses, I will lower the rating to three stars and a half. The brush is really too short and thick, which is inconvenient to reach places. In addition, the mouth should be open a little bit bigger, and as oscillating-rotating system is less foaming toothpaste that Philips vibration, saliva can flow more easily (or so I'm not good).
