Delivery
The Arctic P402 BT come along in a lightweight package. The scope of the package includes the headset, a USB cable for charging, and a velvet carrying bag to carry your. Plus, there's an instruction manual that reveals everything you need to start. A copy of the German and English version can also be always available on the Arctic site on the Internet. Maybe you could be here to wish you a USB adapter from the electrical outlet to charge the headset even in the absence of a PC.
Processing
The headphones are well made. The frame mounts are made of solid plastic. The frame itself seems made of bent steel, but this is hidden from a nylon-like layer, so that the headphones get a pleasant appearance. The ear cups are covered with artificial leather and mountains presumably including foam. Overall, everything is meticulously crafted. No creaking or cracking and also stretching the framework agreements, the headphones very well.
First operation
Before first use, the battery needs to be recharged. Although some devices already a little power should have downed, it is always advisable to charge it with the supplied USB cable. Must be connected to a Bluetooth enabled device to get started or the device. These include MP3 players, smartphones, iPads, and laptops.
Overall, a Bluetooth connection is very easy to create. Once the Arctic P402 BT is turned on, the LED blinks at a time. Has been tested with a Wiko Dark Full and Android 4.2.2. Immediately after turning on the Bluetooth headset will be displayed in the list and connected in within one second. After that, the volume can be adjusted directly via your phone easily.
Sound
A good performance provide the headphones from their main discipline. When listening to audio books, the voices are clearly reproduced. Even music can be heard pleasantly, but you should refrain from particularly heavy bass tracks, because there are the slight weaknesses, what you can get over but in the price category.
The good sound pleasure would not in itself contrary. Both films as well as music and audio books can be enjoyed on the go, but there is a small susceptibility, which is a bit disturbing. There seems to be depending on the device problems with the Bluetooth connection. While these are always good and stable, but can cause background noise such as noise or the like. With my Wiko there was ever a faint buzzing noise, that the time is already annoying. In conjunction with my notebook but I could not make this sound. I can not say whether it is on the phone or on the headset. For other Bluetooth products my Wiko showed no noise attacks.
In addition, the headphones have a special feature. At the edge of the left ear cup, a microphone is integrated. Although this is a nice gimmick, but not necessarily intended for permanent use. In the absence of a better microphone you can use it in advance, but the amount of noise will delight the users at the other end rather less.
Ergonomics
Ergonomics I would rate as good. In my somewhat larger head there after a long train ride no problems. The earpieces are comfortable and the framework is sufficiently flexible. Even outside noise will be pleasantly weakened, so that you can concentrate on the sound.
Conclusion
Overall, my Arctic P402 BT slopes quite well. The sound is for the price range in order and it meets the purpose exactly. They are easy to pack, easy to carry and have a good endurance. Everything you should expect from a mobile companion. Processing confident and appropriate for the price range. Only the apparent incompatibility with my Wiko brings me to a score of 4 stars.
Extension from 15.09.2014
Since I still could connect devices to the Artic P402 BT in the meantime and those devices had no problems, I assume that it apparently really only an incompatibility with my Wiko. Therefore, I give it 5 stars subsequently, to be fair to other devices over.
