- The rubber felt compared to the original "sticky" to, in my opinion, less pleasant.
- The rubber coating on the grip Meike has a different structure, which differs from the visible to the camera (at a distance of 2 m but no longer visible). The structure of the rubber coating of the original contrast fits perfectly with the camera.
- The plastic and the housing from Meike grip are slightly darker than the camera. Thus, the handle sets may look slightly from the camera (even from a distance of 2m visible).
- The wheels on Meike grip is not rubberised unlike the original.
- The case of Meike handle is inside completely made of plastic. The original inside is lined with metal.
- The color of the blue marks down the AE / FE Verriegelung- and AF-image selection button is different from the original color to the camera. It has a more intense blue.
- The plastic on the original handle just feels valent. It is exactly like the dasgleiche the camera.
- The trigger on the handle Meike has a not quite as crisp pressure point as the original grip.
- The on / off switch on Meike-handle can be more or less without resistance back and procrastinate, so not really a snap. On the contrary to the original.
- Also the original handle or the rubber smelled unpacking somehow vinegar. After 2-3 hours in the fresh air of the smell was gone. The rubber coating on the handle-Meike smelled strongly of unpacking to rubber. This smell also vanished fairly quickly.
- Both handles are secure and suitable to the camera.
- Meike handle is "Made in China", the Canon "Made in Taiwan".
Despite two original Canon batteries of Meike handle was in my camera menu Battery Info only one battery, even though I have the battery in the handle can also be interchanged. Time (possibly. Handle broken?) Was in the camera menu a battery up, sometimes one shown below.. When Canon handle both batteries were perfectly recognized and also as shown in the camera menu.
Conclusion:
For a price of just under 60 for Meike Grip is one or the other can safely ignore the shortcomings I have described above.
However, I have kept the original handle. Only the optically perfect unit constituting the Orignal with the camera was, let alone with almost worth the Aufpres, the better feel.
