The sound of the new ultra flat TV's is mostly miserable. Since these Soundbar comes in handy. The sound is definitely much better than the TV's. Pleasant sound, very bulky and language is very easy to understand. From 7.1 Surround I can not speak, however. For a proper 5.1 system can not keep up in the least the soundbar. I was looking for a sound bar to each time while watching TV having to turn on the large system plus good for the Yamaha very well. However, the sound is simply nothing to flatter spoiled ears or to look great concerts or action movies with great effects. Not purchased from Amazon but the MM.
