Violator (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Arguing Depeche Mode fans do often ... but are probably in a nearly all agree: VIOLATOR is an absolute masterpiece. The Coronation of Depeche Mode's unique career, an incredible output of atmosphere, creativity and musicianship. The zenith of her career was just 1990. Better than there was never's.
Who got already on the "Singles 86-98" like to Depeche Mode, which is well served with "Violator". Although there are only 9 songs, but they are on such a high level that makes it almost nothing. The LP creates difficult Spargat between mainstream and independent. Sure ... the 4 single-smashers "World in My Eyes" (incredibly groovy intro), "Personal Jesus", "Policy of Truth" and THE Depeche Mode song "Enjoy the Silence" will not get you past. But the rest is Wahnsinn- particularly the uglaublich gloomy, atmospheric and zerbrechlice "Waiting for the Night" (who does not get goose bumps because it is your own fault) or the groovy "Halo".
Depeche Mode understand it like no other band sounds and atmospheres with their music, to produce Dave's vocals and lyrics Martins. Coupled with the outfit, the gloomy clips and the artwork is the an almost magical symbiosis of you look, once captured, can be hard to escape. I'm doing anyway so * hehe *.
No matter ... The fact is that in 1990 they were at the peak of this symbiosis. And "Violator" is the testimony of this climax. One of the best records of all time.
