I've got the device used to amplify our Wi-Fi in the apartment (same floor, 3 walls). The reviews go so completely wrong from wonderful to. We have nevertheless risked.
We have manually configured, which has worked flawlessly. Calling the configuration menu of the repeater on the name "Fritz! Repeater" (or something similar) flap is not with us. When you enter the specific IP, then it goes (192.168.1.77 if already connected correctly, otherwise 192.168.178.2, s. [...]. I am also come just by chance on it!). Connecting computer repeater and Repater- AP (AP wireless router) were very good there, but the reception was still in the remote area remains equally bad, the reception by the repeater directly on the AP was partially significantly disturbed. The construction of the pages in the browser configuration for both the repeater and for the AP were hardly possible in operation. The network strength specified in the task bar was always low, in the list of all networks, however excellent (???). Netstumbler has both networks recognized under the common name of the AP, the AP case with much lower strength (as it should be!).
Have become almost insane, was about to give the thing back. A request by email with AVM has however helped (after 1-2 days).
My mistake was that I allowed the repeater WPA2 and WPA, the AP only WPA2. After I had also reduced the repeater to only WPA2, the thing ran like clockwork. Power now also in the office a lot of fun !! About the Network strengths specification in the repeater configuration menu to AP and the computer can also be the ideal location for the repeater search, as well as the AP (away from other electrical sources and radio operators, such as cordless phone, printer, ...): The network strengths should be the same well nearly!
Contrary to the recommendations we could have DHCP turned off, has nevertheless works.
In spite of the rapid and successful service the boys and girls should improve your descriptions with AVM. Then comes not so much resentment on (s. Other reviews).

Here are some relief from AVM, but calm yourself, possibly with its own problem description there Flag ([...]).
It is crucial that in the user interface of the FRITZ! WLAN Repeater the data rate between the wireless AP and the repeater on the one hand and the data rate between repeaters and computer ideally identical, real at least approximately on the other hand the same size.
If the connection still slower than a direct connection, computer wireless AP, please check the following
Settings / measures:
In wireless AP (Router):
- Disable - if any - proprietary processes to wireless "fast" to make (super g, g ++, or the like).
- Set - at least for testing purposes - a channel firmly.
- For the application / use of the AVM WLAN Repeater you do not need WDS configuration. This may even interfere. Disable - if established - the WDS configuration.
- Set the WPA mode please firmly on either WPA or WPA2.
(Please note that corresponding changes also affect the connected wireless clients and this would also be set up to this encryption here.)
Then - nothing changes at the speed nutzbarebn - please proceed as follows:
Call by entering the IP address in the browser, the user interface of the repeater on.
In the "default" (default) settings of the FRITZ! WLAN Repeater sends the Nammen (SSID) of your wireless AP and it is also the same wireless network key used.
This option allows "seemless roaming", ie, the wireless client on your computer only sees a "device" namely the WLAN AP and connects to the "Send fittest".
Disable in the user interface of the FRITZ! WLAN Repeater under "WLAN"> "Wireless Settings", select "Name of the radio network from the access point (FRITZ! Box) take" and enter a new name for the repeater. Save this change by clicking on the "Apply" button.
Then, remove your wireless control software FRITZ! WLAN Repeater.
After about one minute you're looking for new wireless networks. The FRITZ! WLAN Repeater is displayed again with the newly assigned name (this is not the case, please visit several times at intervals of about 30 seconds). Select this network and connect with this. Please note that you enter as the key WLAN key of the WLAN AP, not the original key, which is valid only in the factory settings.
