I bought the hard drive in order to store large amounts of data in short time. In 4TB segment there are currently not a lot of competition, earlier I did with Samsung hard drives good experience and so far has left me not down, now I'm trying with WD my happiness and my research are WD hard drives in the statistics more reliable Seagateplatten , That remains to be seen ...
Here are a few positive impressions:
- Fairly quiet for a 7200rpm HDD, when the write performance I expected more noise and rattling, but in my Silent System (and by that I mean really whisper) and the hard disk decoupling it can only be heard when booting
- Best performance at 4TB HDDs! The manufacturer's instructions, I could achieve with large files well, what more could you want ...
- Good price for a HDD with the power
- 5 year warranty! This is a rarity these days and was decisive for my purchase
What I did not like so much:
- The SATA data cable is not locked! In my other hard drives the plug locked to the bush, at the WD unfortunately lacks the plastic part, andem the plug to get stuck, so that there is a risk, withdraw the plug accidentally! This is simply stupid and annoying, I can also imagine a benefit of this construction. The time now is not so that the connector slides off so easy, but just in hard drive cables, it happens that these are often due to space problems in the housing to power and therefore can slip if they are not locked.
Finally, I can drive so recommend anyone who values the best performance at an acceptable volume and the lack of SATA-locking does not bother.
