Customer Review

Not only the fans of MAGNUM may have noticed by now that the British are always rocking (and gloomy, which some even charmed even more). For singer Bob Catley is due to the fact that mainman Tony Clarkin produced his band for some time even. This has krachige uptempo tracks like "Too Many Clowns" (evil, evil!) And "Burning River" result that would have ironed mercilessly platinum producer Keith Olsen like. On top of that is Clarkin is as composer and lyricist on a creative level flight as well never in over 35 years as an author.
Once again, very good to outstanding pieces have emerged again, the thrill one immediately. As usual, of course, the highlights are the titles with the greatest long-term effect. Right away the tragic epic "Midnight Angel" grabbed me the most; a sort of modern "How Far Jerusalem" from her flair and yet completely different, dark, mystical. Off-topic not to mention ... These immediately joined "Unwritten Sacrifice", whose poetic and sad text I get goose bumps. The highlight!
However, the quality of flattened in the middle: "The Art Of Compromise", "Do not Fall Asleep" and "Wisdom's Had Its Day" lacks the magic. Why I do not know, maybe the title have just woken up with me only to high expectations. "The art of compromise" but promises everything, or not? Since you can only be disappointed!
Although "The Valley Of Tears" Bob Catleys favorite piece is, I miss the last kick, any particular gimmick. Especially in the sector have ballads MAGNUM already accomplished far better!
A special praise, however, for the ingenious front and back cover of Rodney Matthews. Tony Clarkin wanted necessarily incorporated question mark. He got it - and how!
Who the CD / DVD Package At length to listening enjoyment four live songs (about 22 minutes) and two videos get in addition to the nearly 63 more minutes offered. On the latter, I would have the benefit of more live material like waived.
Without the aforementioned slump in the second half would be the 17 MAGNUM Studio Opus a Full House, for the first six tracks are pomp rock at its best. Too bad, just missed!
