So I borrowed this 7.1 sound card along with a Superlux HD668B (bought via Thomann for about 35) plus a Zahlman ZM-microphone Mic1 for 7.50.
In the Studio headphones fit velor pads of AKG headphones.
The sound of this sound card and especially the surround sound, I find a lot nicer / more clearly than has been the case at the G35, even if it probably is subjective impressions. Processing and feel I find very valuable and stable.
I have loaded the first the latest driver for Win7 by Asus Page, there's apparently only when the Dolby Home Theatre this interface here. The driver works as far as faultless and the setting options quite diverse. for example: you can adjust the gain of the map of the impedance of the headphones.
On Linux and Win 8 I could not test the sound card, if I have the muse for this, I'll add the Comment here.
Pros / Cons:
Pro:
+ Easy Plug & Play
+ Valuable, stable feel
+ Clear Sound 7.1
+ Ohm resistance of the card can be customized to the headphones.
+ Volume of headphones / speakers and microphone with a switch on the card set.
+ For those who want a normal headset more while the surround sound does not want to miss.
Cons:
- Driver on the CD is out of date, it has to a be downloaded from the ASUS page (Dolby Home Theatre is missing)
I hope this helps one or the other in their purchasing decision :)
Regards
Stefan
